Frega is free to join and free to use for customers. This page explains what you get as a customer, how Growth Points work, how your privacy is protected, and what it means if you naturally introduce someone else to the platform.
Joining Frega is free. Using the core platform is free. There are no subscription fees, no hidden charges, and no obligation to spend anything beyond what you choose.
At the heart of the platform is a loyalty reward system that gives you genuine recognition for supporting local businesses, and Frega Chat — a private, direct communication tool that connects you with anyone you choose to add to your contacts, whether that is a business, a friend, or anyone else in the Frega community.
Every user will also have access to Nova — a personal AI assistant built exclusively for you, operating entirely within Frega's privacy-protected environment. Nova is free, works only with your own data, and is designed to help you get the most from the platform as it grows.
For those who want more, an expanding library of AI agents — specialist tools developed by members of the Frega community and published to the marketplace — will be available at just $3.00 per agent per month as the platform grows. These will be entirely optional. The core platform, including Nova, remains free regardless of whether you choose to add them.
Your Frega account is a personal platform account, not simply a loyalty card. It gives you access to everything Frega offers — from loyalty rewards and private chat to whatever tools suit your needs — at whatever level works for you.
Growth Points are issued by Frega when you make a qualifying transaction with a participating business. Each business's points carry that business's own branding — so the points you earn at your local café are "The Corner Café Growth Points", redeemable only there. You might hold points from several different businesses, all visible together in Your Growth Points.
Growth Points are a loyalty reward. They have no cash value, cannot be transferred or exchanged for money, and are redeemable only with the business that triggered their issuance. They may expire according to the issuing business's policy.
When you make a qualifying purchase or transaction at a participating business, the business uses Frega's loyalty service to trigger a Growth Points issuance. Frega then issues the points directly to your account. You do not need to do anything beyond completing the transaction — points appear in your account automatically.
When you want to redeem points, you do so directly with the business that issued them. Points cannot be redeemed with any other business or converted into cash.
Your Growth Points are recorded in your account and displayed on your App, which shows a record of your Growth Points across all the businesses you engage with. 'Your Growth Points' is not a financial account, not a wallet, and not a stored-value facility. It holds your loyalty reward points only.
You can view your full transaction history, see how many points you hold with each business, and track redemptions — all from your account.
When you engage with a business through Frega, you gain access to Frega Chat — a direct, private communication channel between you and that business.
Chat allows you to ask questions, raise concerns, receive updates, and build an ongoing relationship with the businesses you choose to support. Conversations are private, remain within Frega's ecosystem, and are never shared with third parties or used for advertising.
You are always in control of which businesses can contact you through Chat.
Frega is built around a "garden fence" approach to privacy. Your data stays within the protected Frega ecosystem and is never sold, leased, or provided to advertisers, data brokers, or any third party.
Your data is used only for the purposes for which you have explicitly given permission — to record transactions and to help you manage your activity on the platform. The platform is designed in accordance with UK and EU data-protection regulations. You have the right to view, export, and delete your data at any time.
Think of it this way: businesses you choose to engage with can communicate with you through Frega. Businesses you have not engaged with cannot reach you. No advertiser, data broker, or third party can access your information. You control who you interact with.

Frega distributes 5% of its total global service fee revenues back to the community through FregaDrop — a periodic payment to eligible members based on their engagement with the platform.
FregaDrop amounts are calculated using the Equity Index — a weighting system based on World Bank purchasing power parity data, reviewed annually. This means distributions are weighted to reflect the real-world value of money in your location, so members in economically disadvantaged areas receive proportionally more.
The amount available to you from FregaDrop is recorded in Your Share — the same place that records any Advocacy, Consultancy, Publishing, or Licensee amounts you may have accrued.
Distributions are periodic, at intervals determined by Frega. Eligibility is subject to sanctions screening and Frega's standard terms.

If your normal activity on Frega — engaging with a business, sending a chat, or simply using the platform — leads someone you already know to register, you automatically become an Advocate in relation to that person. There is no application, no programme, and nothing you need to do.
Important: Advocacy is incidental, not a programme. You should not join Frega or use the platform with the expectation of receiving Advocate payments. Most Advocates receive nothing or very small amounts, as many introductions do not lead to ongoing paid service usage. Advocate payments are not a reliable source of income and are taxable.
When someone you have naturally introduced goes on to use paid Frega services, you may receive variable payments funded from Frega's service revenue. These are calculated as 20% of service fees in year one, 15% in year two, and 10% from year three onwards, continuing indefinitely. Payments are subject to a flat monthly cap of $3,000 across all introduced accounts, or 100% of the Advocate's own combined Frega service fee spend if that exceeds $3,000 — whichever is higher.
These payments recognise organic introductions within existing relationships. They are not a reward for recruitment, and Frega does not ask or expect Advocates to promote the platform, recruit others, or do anything other than use the platform naturally.

Frega does not ask customers to recruit others, share the platform, build a network, meet any targets or quotas, attend meetings or training, or purchase any product in order to participate. You are free to use Frega entirely for its own practical value — loyalty rewards, Chat, and the tools available to you — without any obligation beyond that.
