How Frega Works

This page explains the mechanics of the Frega platform — how tools are delivered, how Growth Points work, how service fees are structured, how independent professionals contribute, and how privacy is maintained throughout. For the official definitions of all terms used here, see the Definitions page.

The Platform at a Glance

Frega is a single-login platform that brings together a growing library of tools for businesses and their customers. Everything is connected, cross-referenced, and designed to work together. A business that issues Growth Points through the loyalty service automatically builds a record of its customers and their transactions. That same customer record feeds into the business dashboard. The dashboard connects to Frega Chat. Chat connects back to the customer.

This integration is what sets Frega apart from standalone tools. Rather than using a separate loyalty app, a separate messaging tool, and a separate reporting system, everything lives in one place.

Growth Points: How the Loyalty Service Works

The Basic Mechanic

Growth Points are Frega's branded loyalty reward system. When a qualifying business transaction takes place, the business pays a service fee to Frega. In return, Frega issues Growth Points to the customer. The business does not issue the points — Frega does. The business triggers the issuance.

Growth Points are specific to the business that triggered them. A customer might hold "The Corner Café Growth Points" and "Bob's Barber Growth Points" in the same customer account — each set independently branded, redeemable only with the business it belongs to.

The Service Fee Split

The Growth Points service fee starts at 1% of the transaction value being rewarded. Of that fee:

  • 65% is recognised as service revenue and distributed to the service providers involved — Advocates, Consultants, Licensees, and Frega.
  • 35% is recorded as deferred liability under IFRS 15 (Appendix B, B39–B43). This amount is not revenue. It is held as an obligation and reduced only when Growth Points are redeemed, at which point Frega credits the business's service account.

What Growth Points Are Not

Growth Points are a loyalty reward. They are not a financial product, not a stored-value facility, not a currency, and not an investment. They have no cash value. They cannot be transferred or exchanged. They may expire according to the issuing business's policy.

The Growth Point Account

Every Frega user has a Growth Point account. This is a non-monetary record showing their Growth Points balance across all the businesses they engage with. The customer account is not a wallet. It is not a financial product. Growth Points held within it are loyalty rewards only.

Every member also has 'Your Share' which records amounts available to request from Frega's service revenue as a result of Advocacy, FregaDrops, Consultancy, Publishing and Licences as applicable. These are separate records with separate functions. The customer account is never monetary, regardless of what Your Share shows.

Redemption

When a customer redeems Growth Points with a business, Frega credits that business's service account from the deferred liability it has been holding. The business can apply that credit against future service fees.

For full details see Growth Points.

The Business Dashboard

Every business using Frega has access to a management dashboard built around Frega's "Get Rid of the Red" methodology — a RAG (Red/Amber/Green) traffic-light system that flags areas needing attention and makes priorities clear at a glance.

The dashboard provides a record of customers and their transactions, transaction reporting and analytics, Growth Points issuance and redemption tracking, and communication tools. The goal of the dashboard is always to move every indicator from red to green — identifying and resolving issues proactively rather than reactively.

Frega Chat

Frega Chat is a direct, private communication channel between businesses and the customers in their record. It operates within Frega's privacy-protected environment. Messages are not sold to advertisers, not mined for data, and not shared with third parties.

Chat is what makes the loyalty system genuinely interactive. Rather than issuing points and never speaking to a customer again, businesses can use Chat to respond to feedback, share updates, and build an ongoing relationship — all within the platform they already use for everything else.

Nova: AI Assistance Within the Garden Fence

Nova is every user's personal AI assistant. It operates entirely within Frega's privacy-protected ecosystem and draws only on data that exists within the platform. It does not connect to external data sources, does not share information outside the platform, and does not manage money or financial products.

Nova is designed to help users navigate the platform, answer questions, and reduce the need for human support — making the platform accessible to users who are less confident with digital tools. Nova will be available free of charge, with optional upgrades.

For full details see Nova and the AI Agent Marketplace.

The AI Agent Marketplace

Publishers — community members working within a secure sandbox environment provided by Frega — can develop AI agent tools using Azure AI Foundry and publish them to the Frega marketplace. Other users can subscribe to these tools at a standard price.

Publishers receive a portion of subscription fees when their tools are used. All activity is governed by strict data-protection and secure data-access rules. AI agents operate within the same garden fence as Nova — they cannot access data outside the platform or share information externally.

For full details see Publishers and AI Agents.

How Services Are Delivered: The Independent Professional Model

Frega does not operate through a traditional structure of employed regional staff. Instead, it partners with independent professionals from within its own community to deliver onboarding, support, and coordination. This keeps operational costs low, pricing accessible, and service local.

There are four categories of independent service provider within the Frega ecosystem. Each is described below and in full on its own detail page. These pages are incorporated into Frega's Terms of Service by reference and should be read carefully by anyone considering taking on that role.

Consultants

Consultants are personal account holders, identified by the platform as competent and willing to help others. The role is invitation-only and merit-based. Consultants support a portfolio of up to 100 clients — business account holders only — and receive variable payments from Frega's service revenue based on their clients' platform usage — not for introductions, recruitment, or network building.

Consultant performance is measured continuously through the Net Score system. Senior Consultants may be assigned up to four Sub-Consultants by Frega. The 4% Sub-Consultant supervision fee is a professional services fee, not a passive income or recruitment reward.

For full details see How Consultants Work.

Licensees

Licensees are community coordinators who provide local, face-to-face support within a specific geographical area. There are two levels: Territory (local) and Area (regional). Licensees pay a fee to secure their appointment — the Territory Licensee establishment fee is $1,000 (annual renewal $10). The Area Licensee establishment fee is $10,000 (annual renewal $100). This fee is not an investment and does not provide equity. Licensees are paid for the coordination services they deliver, not for community spending or network growth.

Where a territory is already generating service fee revenue at appointment, a maturity adjustment applies to the Licensee's variable payments for the first two years, normalising to the full rate from year three.

For full details see How Licensees Work.

Advocates

An Advocate is a community member whose normal platform activity — issuing Growth Points, sending an invoice, initiating a chat — leads another person to register on Frega. There is no application. There is no programme. Advocacy is automatic and incidental.

When someone an Advocate has naturally introduced goes on to use paid Frega services, the Advocate may receive variable payments from Frega's service revenue. Payments are calculated as 20% of service fees in year one, 15% in year two, and 10% from year three onwards, continuing indefinitely. Payments are subject to a flat monthly cap of $3,000 across all introduced accounts, or 100% of the Advocate's own combined Frega service fee spend if that exceeds $3,000 — whichever is higher.

Most Advocates receive nothing or very small amounts. Advocacy is incidental, not a programme, and should never be treated as a reason to use Frega or as a source of reliable income. All variable payments are taxable income.

For full details see How Advocates Work.

Publishers

Publishers develop and publish AI agent tools for the Frega marketplace. They work within Frega's secure sandbox environment and receive a portion of subscription fees when their tools are used. All activity is subject to strict data-protection rules.

For full details see How Publishers Work.

Pricing and Fees

Frega operates an activity-based pricing model. Businesses pay service fees when platform activity completes successfully — not for clicks, impressions, or views. This aligns Frega's commercial interest directly with the value it delivers to businesses.

Current pricing for all services is available on the relevant service pages. Fees are denominated in US Dollars. Some platform features are available free of charge; others require a subscription or per-use service fee. Fees for services already provided are generally non-refundable.

Payment is processed through secure third-party providers. Frega does not hold payment card details.

Privacy: The Garden Fence Model

All user data on Frega stays within what we call the "garden fence" — the privacy-protected Frega ecosystem. Data is never sold, leased, or provided to third parties, advertisers, or data brokers. It is used only for the purposes for which explicit permission was given.

The platform is designed in accordance with UK and EU data-protection regulations, with privacy-by-design principles built into every feature. Users have the right to access, export, and delete their data at any time.
